2022w32 A New Semester is About To Start

There is 1 week to go before we start the autumn semester! We have been preparing for the first day for some time, it has some detailed work with our teachers, I think we have got most of the things ready, I'm looking forward to the new start, are you?

When saying "new start", I think it's interesting to share about what brings a new or different feeling, some immediate points in my mind now, but not covering all aspects.

A new term with the most popularity ever. I see generally the best positive feedbacks from our students and their parents, almost all existed students continue with us, and more newcomers are knocking on the door. I see especially good responses for the higher grade classes, we have got unexpected more inquiries for grade 3 and 4, and those classes are in full swing now.

A new term with the most amount of classes and students ever. I mentioned this in last week's blog post, what I want to add further is that we are carefully controlling the growth. In accordance to our values, we hope to serve more people in need in our local span as possible, we want to leverage more supporting resources by getting our size in a reasonable influencing level. On the other hand, we insist on quality and affordability, sustainability. The motivation resides in such a "lagom".

A new term with several new courses offers. We have developed some new courses like Programming, Calligraphy, and for the first time formally fully set up the very well liked Kindergarten classes, and include it as part of the Chinese courses series.

A new term with the strongest teachers team profile ever. Both the amount of teachers and the professional levels of the team have shown a new record profile.

A new term with our new website in use. It's definitely an exciting point to mention, there are also much wishes to get our information and communication in better way in the coming future.

A new term with full return to face-to-face teaching in classrooms. Although it's a little hard to judge if it's post-Covid time, the new conditions enable us a fully back to classrooms from this autumn term.

A new term with "ZHONGWEN" into use as main teaching materials. A flexible and mixed materials usage strategy is still valid, yet, it's the first time we set "ZHONGWEN" series as a main reference.

A new term with...

离秋季学期开学还有一个星期了！我们已经为开学第一天准备了一段时间了，有不少跟老师一起的细节的筹备工作。我想我们已经基本准备好了，我很期待新的开始，你呢？

当提到“新的开始”，想想新学期会有什么新的或不同的感觉还挺有趣的，这里我分享一些我马上想到的一些点子，不完全涵盖所有的方面。

最大欢迎度的新学期。在招生工作中我看到有史以来最好的反馈，几乎所有已有学生都选择继续，还有不少新生加入。我看到高年级也有特别好的反响，三四年级招生计划完成的超出想象。

最高的学生和班级数量的新学期。我上个星期也提到过这点，这里我想说我们一直在谨慎控制增长。根据我们的理念，我们希望服务在本地涉及范围内的更多的有需求的求知者，我们希望通过成长到合理的量级，提高影响力，从而获取到更多的教与学的支持资源。另一方面，我们坚持质量和可承担，可持续性。这个历程恰合“lagom”之道。

有好几个新课程的新学期。我们开发了一些新的课程，比如编程，书法，而且我们第一次把上学期试行的中文幼儿班正式完全设立，并归入中文课程系列设置中。

最强教师团队的新学期。包括老师数量和专业水平，都是一个新高。

新网站启用的新学期。这绝对是一个令人兴奋的事情，同时我也看到期望在即将的未来会改善我们信息和沟通的方式。

完全重返课堂面对面教学的新学期。虽然有点难断言这是否“后疫情”时代，但新的形势下各种利好条件允许我们秋季学期完全重返课堂了。

开始正式采用《中文》系列教材为主线的新新学期。灵活和组合的教材策略依然有效，但这学期开始我们第一次正式把《中文》系列设为我们中文教学的主教材。

新学期…
